ABOUT KIMBALL & EDWARD RICHARDS
Edward Richards born and raised in the Chicagoland area started piano lessons at age 8 and paid his way through accounting school by tuning pianos. Edward is a degreed accountant who graduated with Honors from DePaul University.
After learning to tune pianos at age 19 and completing his accounting degree, Edward was recruiting by top accounting firm then known as Peat, Marwick in Los Angeles. He left accounting at age 27 returning to piano tuning and shortly thereafter opened first retail piano store in 1988 in Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. In 1991, Edward Richards co-founded Fandrich Piano Company and in 1994 opened a second retail piano store in the former DePaul University’s Music Mart at State & Jackson, downtown Chicago.
The Everett piano brand name was acquired in 1995 and the Kimball brand in 2005.
